Chemistry is an exciting field, but it requires experiential learning to truly understand and appreciate. With the materials listed, I will be able to have my students do hands-on experiments like our copper chloride lab! In this experiment, the students get to see chemical reactions in real time and visualize how displacement reactions occur. Students add aluminum foil to a beaker of copper chloride and watch the aluminum foil dissolve and solid copper form at the bottom of the beaker. My students love this experiment because they can also observe temperature change, color change, odor change, and other indicators of a chemical reaction!
