After Spring Distance Learning, I realized it would be challenging to deliver effective lessons as a Graphic Design/Art Teacher. As I am sure you can imagine, I am limited in resources since my subject is hands-on! Throughout this time, it has become abundantly clear that art is therapeutic in nature and essential to education. I would like every student to have a sketchbook at home to expand the opportunity for us to deeply explore Teenage Social Justice Issues. Art is a healthy way to express our feelings, and the sketchbooks will give my students that outlet. We will explore issues such as Mindfulness, Environment/Climate Change, Black Lives Matter, Tolerance, Diversity, and Communication. A sketchbook is essential to exploring ideas. This is an item that students' families struggle to provide.
