We love crayons and pencils, but creating every art project with just those two supplies limits my students' creativity and projects. My students will use water colors for numerus projects including self-portraits, pumpkin paintings, holiday paintings, and even spring projects. The upper grades will have their very own set of oil pastels to use with the paints. Mixed media is important for the students to learn and use in their artwork. Oil pastels are one of my favorite mediums to teach and use on projects. They are very versatile and help teach so many different elements of art.
