This school year is going to look very different with the possibility of having to shift to online learning at a moment's notice. Many of my students come from lower income homes and do not have access to the supplies that they would normally have in school. By providing these supplies, my students will be fully prepared to do our lessons and activities, even remotely. With these resources, I will create an "at home" supply pack that each student will have at their home. For example, during our small group math Zoom meetings, the students will be able to use a dry erase board and marker to work out problems. Each student will also be able to have access to headphones. In the case of a quarantine, many of their family members will be home including siblings in other grades. Headphones will allow them to focus on their own learning without distractions. Other materials like crayons and markers will help the students be able to participate in any art activities remotely. These things as well as the other materials in their at home supply kit will be so helpful to them as they learn throughout the year. Even though this year may look different, these resources will ensure that our learning can continue at home.
