As my students enter a new, unchartered phase in education, through a combination of virtual and in-person learning, they will greatly benefit from resources allowing them more opportunities to take control of their own learning. With BrainPop for ESL, they can practice language skills at home in a structured, engaging way and never miss a beat from in-person teaching. Along with BrainPop, I can meet with my students virtually and maintain consistency in their language acquisition. When we are in-person, BrainPop will greatly improve the lessons through audio and visual modes of learning English. It will provide an engaging way to present instruction! With Word-to-Word dictionaries, students are able to improve their language for their coursework in their mainstream classes. Because the English language has so many words with a similar meaning, they will improve the students’ understanding of the reasons one word would fit more appropriately to convey meaning. Without these dictionaries, it is difficult for English Language learners to deepen their vocabulary. My students work very hard to acclimate to our culture and these tools would greatly advance them in their efforts!
