Our students are ready to take the next step in math and use a graphing calculator. Several of the graphing calculators do not work, so we need some replacements. My students are very excited to get to use graphing calculators this year. We will use these calculators many times, but the first big project will be to create your own trail mix. Using 2 ingredients, it's time to design your own trail mix! Choose two ingredients that you like to eat and you can look up the nutrition information. Think about the constraints for your trail mix. What do you want to be true about its calories, protein, sugar, fat, or fiber? Write inequalities to represent your constraints. Then, use your graphing calculator to make graphs of the inequalities. The most important thing is that each student will have a calculator that works and everyone will have the opportunity to work with this technology.
