I am a second year teacher at an urban charter school. Our school serves mostly poor and minority students. We opened just three years ago with a mission to improve the educational outcomes of all students in a district that was failing them. My kindergarten classroom is a wonderfully democratic mix of students. My students' families come from the U.S., Mexico, Ethiopia, and Russia. Their academic abilities are just as diverse as their ethnic backgrounds. Donor's Choose is a tremendous help in meeting the educational needs of such a diverse group!
