I want to put tennis balls and movement scarves in students hands to move and respond as they discover and create music. Scarves will help with emotional, internal connections, and breath pacing and control. Tennis balls will help with feeling rhythm, subdivision, understanding microbeat versus macrobeat, and specific articulation within the music. Movement to music helps children to make deeper connections with their emotional and physical selves. Movement in unison also unifies an ensemble and strengthens the classroom culture which is especially important right now. All items will be sanitized before being used again.
