This year, students will be starting the year with distance learning. Normally, special education students enrolled in Ceramics would have an adult aide (para-educator) to help them with construction, navigating the difficulties of clay (drying, cracking, air bubbles, etc.) and ensure safe handling practices. Projects would also then be turned in, fired, and returned. Since all students will be working from home indefinitely, I want to ensure that my special education students (and their parents) have a fun, safe, non-toxic alternative to clay available to work with at home without the concern of returning to school to fire projects and pick them up. These materials will allow then to still participate from the safety of their own homes.
