I am requesting sketchbooks for each of my students (both Intro to Art and Drawing and Painting). As students move to online learning, sketchbooks will play a vital role in helping them to experiment with materials, explore their own ideas and challenge their artistic growth daily. Students will invest time into their very own sketchbook beyond what a single piece of paper can provide. It will allow them to organize and monitor their growth throughout the semester. It will also provide them with a comprehensive set of work that they can keep and reflect upon throughout their high school career and beyond. Many of my students cannot afford to purchase their own book and I am hopeful that providing them with this important tool will make all the difference in their success and personal motivation.
