What will my classroom look like with children spaced apart and movement minimal due to preventative measures to "stop the spread"? How do I keep my students actively engaged when I know they learn best through use of all of their senses, especially movement? How can they focus when they have pent up energy from sitting for hours? I can't even sit for hours! These thoughts and questions keep me up at night, as they should for you. As I begin to visualize this new classroom, fidget bands and wobble cushions immediately popped into mind. If my students cannot move how we usually would in a pre-pandemic classroom, I can still provide them a sensory experience, an outlet for their energy, stress relief, and a way to increase their focus. I have witnessed these items do just that. Your donation will be a blessing in the overall well-being and academic success of my students as we move forward in these uncertain times.
