Virtual learning last spring reflected that at least half of our students did not have the basic materials at home necessary to engage in multi-step or varied material art experiences. I have requested a sketchbook for each student so that they will have a versatile surface to explore wet media like watercolor, and dry media like colored pencils and pens at home. This will also provide students with the opportunity to experiment with layering a variety of media. Glue sticks will allow them to cut and paste layers to create collages or make corrections within their sketchbook. These requested materials will specifically support Drawing, Painting, and Introduction to Visual Arts students to engage in authentic project-based instruction from home.
