My school is located in Oakland, CA. Most of our scholars come from low-income households. At BMA we help prepare our scholars to climb the mountain to college. Some will be the first in their family to do so. From kindergarten all the way to 8th grade college banner hang above the classroom doors, as a daily reminder of where they are headed. We serve almost 200 middle school students. My students are smart, creative, hilarious, and hard working. They are a joy to teach and I look forward to coming to work everyday.
