My students have chosen animal science as a career path. We have access to a variety of domestic animals and livestock but no available exotic or “pocket” pets. Having classroom pets will only benefit my students, their over all knowledge and their skill in animal care. Over 85 million Americans own pets of some kind. That’s over 67% of the population. Someone has to learn to be knowledgeable and skilled to care and tend to these animals. My studentS receive a unique education, one that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
