Pre-Kindergarten is an exciting time for students, since this is the first educational experience for many students. My students have been home since COVID-19 began last school year and I want them to walk into a room that has been totally remodeled with new and updated rugs, as well as organizational materials to keep their materials safe and all of us healthy. Students will have their own material bins and the room will have designated learning stations. My goal is to use the rugs to create different learning stations for the students to visit. The grey rug will be used in the calm down area for the students who might need to visit that area, the Hungry Caterpillar foam tiles will be used in the writing center, and the Hopscotch rug will be used to practice gross-motor skills. As the students move to the different learning centers they will bring their very own clear storage bin that will contain different materials for them to use in each station. The clear storage bins for students will be kept on the bottom two shelves of the 4-tier shelf so the students can feel independent and get their own materials. The other set of 5-quart clear containers will be used to store materials for upcoming units for students and their learning.
