The STEM classes I teach, Small Internal Combustion Engines and FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics, require students to do a lot of hands-on activities with tools. The activities include assembly, disassembly, cutting, soldering, etc. Providing each student with their own pairs of work gloves and safety glasses ensures personal safety while addressing the emerging challenges presented by COVID-19. Providing individual students with their own personal protective equipment ensures that COVID-19 is not spread through community use. These personal protective items will be taken with the students for use in future STEM classes under development as well!
