I teach high school Spanish and want to create a classroom library for my students. There is a wide variety of appropriate and engaging texts out there that are catering to secondary language learners. During this time of distance or hybrid learning models, I would love to provide my students with opportunities to increase their literacy and Spanish proficiency through reading, even when we aren't meeting face-to-face. These references could be used in any type of learning model (virtual, face-to-face or hybrid). These books will help greatly improve their vocabulary, cultural awareness and reading skills. This project would provide equitable learning opportunities that don't require the dependency of screens or technology. I want my students to value reading and learning through text by way of engaging and entertaining stories and graphics.
