Keeping track of assignments for 7 different classes can be quite difficult for middle school students, especially now that my students will need to organize and prioritize assignments for in person and online instruction each week. I would like to purchase composition notebooks for each of my students to use to track their assignments each week. I plan to model a variety of ways that they can set up their assignment tracker so that they can pick a model that works best for them. I want to make my classroom as safe as possible for my students. While my school has purchased masks for staff members we most likely will not be able to provide masks to all of our students. I would like to purchase face shields for each of my students to utilize while they are in my room. My hope is to give each student the opportunity to decorate the outside of their shield to get them excited about wearing it during class each day to keep our community safe. I have also listed dry erase markers and whiteboard cleaner in hopes of utilizing small whiteboards to continue partner work in my classroom. While students do need to be socially distanced within my classroom this should not take away from partner work in my science class. I plan to utilize small dry erase boards to help partners communicate their ideas to one another while staying socially distant. While students could simply use Google docs to complete these activities I want to integrate as much face to face interaction as possible while students are in my room.
