My students have been asking me for flexible seating options for years. We are working in a Reading and Writing Workshop format in my classroom. We have a meeting space that then dissipates to their individual desks. Students that need to "take breaks" or "walks" to break up their day are actually able to focus longer when they are in a ball chair. Many of their IEPs call for this type of alternative seating option. Although I will have more than 4 students who need it, I feel like this is a great start to a very successful 6th grade year!
