With my kindergarten students in mind, I chose the Melissa and Doug fairy tale and nursery rhyme puzzle set. These puzzles include The Three Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty, Jack and The Bean Stalk, and many more! These jigsaw puzzles will help my kindergarteners develop fine motor skills, problem solving strategies, hand-eye coordination, shape recognition, patience, memory, and sense of achievement! Each puzzle has between 4 and 12 pieces. I will begin by starting with the puzzles with less pieces and allow my students to build up to using the 12 piece puzzles. Students will be given the opportunity to have a partner and work together putting puzzles together. Working together builds communication, social, and emotional skills. These puzzles will provide a hand on learning experience for my kindergartners!
