I teach upper level math courses, where the calculator is an essential part of the learning process. We do live in tech savvy world and most smart phones do have calculators on them, but these apps on the phone do not help my students. My students need to become comfortable with a basic scientific calculator, in order to have great success on the SAT and ultimately in college. Not all students have a good calculator to use at home and I would like to offer all my students to have this resource at home for them.
