The students I work with all have social and emotional disabilities. Getting them to stay in class, much less in their seats can be extremely challenging. That's where the flexible seating comes in. We are constantly providing choices and options, doing whatever we can to keep our kids in class and engaged. Some of them do have sensitivity issues that are helped tremendously by the kinds of flexible seating I have picked out. For example, I would use these stools for my neediest students during academic periods to encourage them to stay in class and working. I have seen them work with other students who have significant needs, and I believe this can work wonders with my students, too.
