All of the students in this program struggle with some level of positive social interactions, self-esteem, and other personal challenges. By having a classroom library with books specifically geared towards interests and similar obstacles these students may face, it encourages chances to witness facing a problem and coming up with a solution despite adversity. The topics and issues in these books can help guide students through their own difficult challenges and invite them to initiate discussions with peers and adults! A book itself may not be a solution, but it can help spark a new way of thinking, a positive reference for future challenges, and a newfound love for reading :)
