It is a school library's job to supply students with accurate and engaging books. My book wishlist does both. The Berenstain Bears books are some of my most popular books while also being the grubbiest. New copies of these books will give the kids years more use out from these titles. They capture the important K-2nd grade range of reader. An early introduction into reading with a series they love will foster a life-long love of reading. The vast majority of the non-fiction books in my library were published in the 1990's. They reflect their age on the inside and the outside. It is downright irresponsible to expect students to use these books as factual resources very much longer. Pluto is no longer a planet, but you would never know from my library at the moment!
