This year, our school is focusing on Social and Emotional Learning. We believe all learning is social and emotional. SEL gives students the skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve goals, feel, and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Every student is different and SEL celebrates this diversity. These materials can help create a safe environment for our students to practice their SEL skills while having fun and enhancing their STEM knowledge. Students will use these materials to design, build, and create all sorts of things. Students will be challenged to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My goal with this project is to encourage flexibility, collaboration, adaptability, communication, information, and technology literacy, productivity, social skills, leadership, initiative, and more. These in-demand skillsets help to develop young minds for future success.
