There's an old Chinese proverb that reads, "May you live in interesting times." I think we can all agree that has come to pass in the last few months, with 2019-2020 being a hard year. But we all made it through together and in that spirit of working together, we thought it would be a great idea for the school and parents to participate in the program called One School One Book. If you are not familiar with the program One School One Book the idea behind it is that we all collectively read a book together as a family and together as a school. A great book that would be fun to utilize in this program is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. Remember when we say family we mean it. Even if you have a child or young adult that's not attending our school they can still read it together at family reading night. Now everyone has something that can be talked about and shared with each other. In these troubled times our spirit of racial harmony is more important than ever. One School One Book brings us together with the common goal of giving our children the gift of literacy. For this goal to be met however, being a Title I school with 100% of our students on free and reduced lunch our school is going to need help of the community. We need not only the help of the individuals who are able to give but businesses and community organizations and their generosity to make this dream a reality.
