My students love to read. They are always telling me about great books that they want to read, but can't afford to purchase. Being a new teacher, my classroom library is not as big as I would like it to be. So I find myself trying to find ways to purchase the books that they love. The I Survived book series and the Who Was book series were requested by over half of my students. This year, I have a 30 book challenge for my students to participate in and these books will help them finish this challenge and beyond. I have students who really enjoy the Junie B. Jones and Dogman books and I wanted to provide them with more Junie B. Jones and Dogman options to read and write reports on. They will also be able to use these in my 30 book challenge. I love reading and I want my students to love reading as well. I want to help them discover this love for reading by providing them with the books that spark their interest. I want them to understand the joy and excitement of getting lost and taking an adventure through a book.
