I have the good fortune of working with an inspirational team of teachers on the West Side of Chicago who have created a wonderful environment for students to grow in their confidence and ability to learn mathematics. This year, the program will be online due to the Covid-19 crisis. The program involves exploration, critical thinking, communication, and mastery of fundamental skills. The result each year is a group of students who have grown in their identity as valued learners and thinkers. The Chromebooks will enable students to interact with each other and the teachers as well as give them access to the wide variety of excellent math websites. The Chromebooks are an investment that will benefit the students well beyond our program.
