My students need a great space to enjoy reading! I want to foster very positive feelings towards reading for pleasure and I feel a more inviting area would help. We read every day in our reading area. Our floors are wood and not that comfortable for my 4th graders to sit on. A rug and additional seating would make our reading area very inviting. The rug, with the United States on it, that has been chosen will also be used for social studies. In the 4th grade, the students learn states and capitals. This rug will be a great visual aid for my students. The bean bag seating will add a variety of options for the students to use during our reading time. My students deserve to be comfortable while enjoying their books!
