My classroom is designed for several purposes due to the fact I teach all our students as the Professional School Counselor. I am responsible for teaching all students from Kindergarten to grade 5. My students often have challenges such as staying on task, appropriate healthy behavior, and managing social and emotional skills. Currently students experience high levels of frustration when they think no one hears their voice. Many students don’t realize they can use positive ways of managing their social emotional challenges. My students will used the musical instruments to express how they are feeling. They will learn how others express their emotions and to respect them. My objective with the “Focus and Flavor Project” is to provide a positive and creative program for children to become more community compassionate and social emotional stability. Your support for the “Focus and Flavor Project” provides an opportunity for my students to increase their ability to focus not just in my classroom but across all subjects taught. You also are sowing to create more of a healthy school and community environment as our students learn positive behavior expression techniques through our drum circle experiences. Learning how to focus with the flavor of different sounds causes our students to show kindness and respect for others and their differences.
