Ukulele's are a fun and simple way for students to learn to play music and learn musical appreciation. The ukulele is an instrument that is small enough for the little fingers of a first grader but also can have the complexity to engage an eighth grader. They are a great introduction for all students to music and music theory. The students will use the ukulele to learn about beat, harmony, melody, rhythm and tempo. These ukulele's would be used to teach students in 1st grade up to 8th grade. Playing the ukulele helps students build self esteem and confidence. As each student individually progresses, they will be able to work as a team building their sense of community and foster positive relationships. Learning to appreciate and love music has lifelong effects that I hope to instill in my students. And they have so much fun learning, playing and creating.
