These books will be loved and devoured by my students. My students will use these books to make connections to the world. The Friendship War will help them with their own friendships and social emotional learning. The Water Horse will poke their creativity. Who doesn't love fantastical creatures? The two nonfiction texts I chose, And the Who was Nelson Mandela? and Who are Serena and Venus Williams? are AMAZING books that will help my students to understand about really terrific people from our world that they can aspire to follow.
