I am hoping to obtain materials that will enhance the 3rd grade math and science curriculums. For example, I am asking for a class set of tangrams. Tangrams are a Chinese geometric puzzle which contains only 7 pieces. The puzzles will be used to help teach my students about spatial relationships and geometric terms. I am also asking for educational toys such as LEGO bricks and magnetic tiles which are great for cognitive and social development. I plan on integrating the the items into the curriculum by designing cooperating lessons around the toys. I know my students will greatly enjoy these mind nurturing toys.
