My students respond really well to interesting novels. Sadly, a lot of our books are hand-me-downs. We don't have any complete class sets of age-appropriate novels. Next year, I'd like to read a Graphic Novel with my students! We will be reading Flora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo During our reading, we also keep a work binder. All of our notes from the reading will be kept in these binders. At the end of the school year, the students will take their work home as a keepsake.
