My students want to learn to read and write but they are challenged to focus on learning when using traditional learning materials such as books, paper and pencil. Reading and writing are not easy skills to acquire, and key to progress is the amount of time a student can sustain focus on a learning task. The ability to make words with concrete objects such as magnetic alphabet tiles is an exciting way to read and write that engages the senses of sight, sound and touch. These tiles are sized large enough that little hands can move them with ease. The painting foam will be used to support math work with pattern making, writing numbers, and performing math computations. These are fun learning materials!
