The materials in this project will have multiple functions. Some of my students will have high need for sensory input. Kinetic sand, playdough, scented markers, soft (and washable!) pillows as well as the construction materials provide opportunities for various sensory experiences. The materials included are highly engaging and provide motivation in a first work, then play model where students complete a task then choose a preferred activity for a set number of minutes. During times when recess is not possible due to weather or other circumstances, these materials give these young students an opportunity to play safely and happily inside.
