I have chosen a variety of materials to be shared with my 3 and 4 year old students. Not only have I chosen materials that help teach math, science, and literacy, but they also teach cooperation and teamwork - two highly important skills for children to learn in order to deepen their social emotional skills. This project includes some materials my kiddos will enjoy receiving including Magnetic learning numbers and storytelling puppets. These developmentally appropriate toys embed math and literacy in their learning, but more importantly encourage children to play together, take turns, experiment, and problem solve. I know these materials will be loved by all. Many of my students have, or are currently experiencing trauma in their lives and I want to be able to make learning an enjoyable experience for them. These materials will help that goal be reached.
