We are a Head Start home visiting program in Franklin County. We are small in numbers but mighty in spirit. We are currently serving 10 families this year, including two expectant families. For the families in our program, we are able to provide added support during everyday life. However, due to unfortunate ongoing conditions, we can no longer complete in-person visits in each home but, we still want to connect with each other. We want to support the growth and development of these children as well as offer educational tools for the parents to use with their children. By building upon social and emotional skills, toys and other everyday materials will greatly encourage the success of our students while we are unable to see each other physically.  Items like puppets, books, musical instruments, and other supplies will not only be used during our virtual visits but can be incorporated back into our in-person visits when those return. Every family in our class has experienced the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout 2020. As we approach 2021, we hope to continue to encourage growth and development of each student despite the uncertainty. You can help us support the youngest of students during the most vulnerable time in their lives.
