This is my first year teaching second grade. I am so excited and want to make my classroom a place where everyone is comfortable. Having a large rug will be beneficial for having the students come together while I am teaching and a sense of unity. This will allow the students to gain trust in each other and myself. I strongly believe in a unified classroom that has active learning and engagement with every single one of my students. Having a rug together will promote this feeling of unity and engagement.
