Traditional classrooms in the past consisted of sitting desks that were placed in rows. However, humans are social creatures. Students need to be able to learn in a cooperative way. Being able to work with others in a productive way is an important skill for them throughout life. Stand up desks in the classroom enable students to fully engage in the classroom, cooperative learning experience without being distracted by the need to move. The students have the freedom to move without having to distract those around them. Stand up desks also enable them to focus more throughout class.
