The materials that I have requested to begin my first classroom library will make a difference to my students by providing them with resources that the majority do not receive outside of the school environment. I am a first year teacher, and I strongly believe that a diverse classroom library can influence a child's love for reading beyond our short year we will spend together. As a teacher, I have such a love for reading and I cannot wait to use the materials requested to teach my students different skills throughout books. With a diverse classroom library, students will be able to choose various books that interest them. They will be able to choose books that teach them about life skills that occur outside the school environment, as well as books that make them use their imagination through laughter and creativity. A classroom library will allow my students to read books on different reading levels, which is a key component in strengthening their reading skills.
