Every day, my students are engaged in their learning. They work very hard during their learning centers. Our district was fortunate enough to provide each student with their own Chrome book. Because of this, my students are able to listen to books online as a reading station. They absolutely love their time to relax and listen to stories on EPIC. Other websites that my students use to help guide their learning are IXL and Teach Your Monster to read. My students work very hard when it is their turn to be on their Chromebook. However, it becomes very distracting when all of their Chromebooks are playing stories with the volume up. Students need to be able to hear their own Chromebook, but the room fills up with noise when there are multiple people on a Chromebook at once. This becomes very distracting for everyone. It is hard to focus on the other reading stations--word work, reading to self or reading with the teacher. In order to give my students the best learning experience possible, headphones are necessary. I have provided headphones in the past, however, they were cheap are have already broken. These headphones would allow the students on their Chromebooks to be fully engaged in their learning, while everyone else not on Chromebooks can also focus on their own learning--in silence!
