I am requesting help to begin National Board Certification, which is a rigorous one to three year process designed to help teachers hone in on their teaching craft, reflect on best practices, and showcase what is being accomplished in their classroom. Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher would also give me the opportunity to connect with a network of NBCT teachers who can help me to further improve and develop my skills. Research has shown that NBCT teachers have a greater impact on scholars learning and achievement than non-NBCT teachers. This gives me the opportunity to have even more of an impact with scholars. Becoming a NBCT will also help me to offer better professional development for our teachers as I am also a teacher mentor in my school. I am eager for this learning opportunity and experience. My goal is to complete the process in one year.
