Two AP Mathematics courses, Statistics and Calculus, are college-level, rigorous courses that challenge students of all ability levels. These courses are challenging and difficult under the best of circumstances in a face-to-face classroom. To maximize my students' chance of mastery and success in a distance learning environment, I am requesting a live document camera to carry out guided practice and direct instruction without seeing them face-to-face. Hands-on and self-guided instruction certainly have their place in an AP classroom. However, many of my students will require some guided examples as a stepping stone to self-learning and mastery. I am also requesting a tablet pen so I can annotate digital documents that will also be provided in a distance learning environment.
