Flexible seating would allow my students to learn in an environment that is comfortable for them. Being a special education teacher, my students have a variety of different needs, and as somebody who is relatively new to the field of education, I do not have a collection of furniture to allow students to have options in their seating. Giving them the opportunity to pick their seating would make them more comfortable to learn, and this is necessary for special education students. Wobble stools allow students to release some of their energy, which allows them to maintain focus on their schoolwork. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, or lean, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength. Having this option would ultimately help my students reach their greatest potential.
