For 10 years the focus of our business class has been Microsoft Office and keyboarding. While both programs are important in the future endeavors of our student community, we feel that the 21st Century curriculum has presented us with the challenge of learning in a higher order of thinking. Integrated learning in the form of STEAM or Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math has gained the attention of the brightest and inquisitive students we have to offer. Our program no longer draws just the honors and gifted. Kids who are challenged in certain areas of learning move to the forefront of STEAM and show their creative brilliance when it comes to technology. The most important thing about STEAM is the emergence of our young ladies. For years our program has been mostly young men. Today over 50% of our program is bright young ladies. We are confident enough that we have the kids to compete on a national stage. The purchase of these robots will help us with our coding and robotics skills before we spend $1000s of Dollars on our competition team robots. We ask that you find it in your heart to help jumpstart our program and give us an opportunity to compete for National recognition. Sincerely, Kevin Holmes
