Many students in my district come to school FIRST AND FOREMOST to have their most basic needs (safety, security, love) met. These needs have to be met before a student is ready to focus on learning. A fun and inviting classroom helps students WANT to be in school working hard and doing their best. I work hard to make my classroom a place that students WANT to be, and I cherish the community we are able to build together once they realize that they are loved and our room is a safe place where they are always treasured and welcome. We start each new day by choosing our spots, with the students taking responsibility for picking a spot that will help them truly do their BEST work. The options I already have include: carpet mats for laying on stomachs while working on the floor, tall stools for our counter, futon for a cozy spot, and clipboards as a portable writing surface. I am requesting... -wobble stools to move in place at a desk or table -wobble cushions for comfortable sitting at a low table -lap desks for those who want their own defined space -peanut exercise balls to sit on and bounce with or without a desk -donut exercise balls for core support while sitting/bouncing -exercise ball for core support while sitting/bouncing -fidget bands for chair legs so students can still move their feet Obviously I will always meet the needs of my students with or without new furniture, but your donation would allow me to make my room really exciting. ANY amount helps and is so appreciated! Thank you for your consideration in helping Ohio 3rd graders LOVE school!
