Our school is a large elementary school with over 600 students in grades K-5. We are a Title One school because many of our families are living in poverty and have few resources. We are fortunate to have a diverse population which brings richness to our school. Over 10% are refugee students from Myanmar in Asia and others are from various African nations. A large number of our students' families are immigrants from Mexico and Central America. Many students are learning English. While our students have several obstacles to over-come due to poverty and language, they each have a burning desire to learn. Hands-on learning is most affective to help develop their language skills. By supporting my school, you would be providing these students with the hands-on, engaging learning that they desire and desperately need. They don't get access at home so it is up to the school and generous people like you to provide them.
