For this year's school Summer Bridge program, which serves incoming 9th graders, we are planning to have students read, discuss, and analyze Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario. This is a powerful, non-fiction book that we hope students will learn from and enjoy reading! Because Summer Bridge will be virtual this year, we think it is important to have a physical copy of the book for each student, so that we ensure that students are not simply staring at a screen all day. Holding a book in your hand is a powerful, necessary experience!
