Without an easel, I am unable to effectively model and present quality writing to my students. The easel will allow me to record my thoughts as I read, a skill with which fifth grade students often struggle. In addition, the easel, lined chart paper and colored markers will provide me the opportunity to to model the three main types of writing required for middle school. (narrative, explanatory, and opinion writing,) I have found that the majority of students today are visual learners and require teacher modeling. Thank you so much!
